The Public Theatre announces 2018-19 season

“Fall is officially here, which means it’s time for The Public Theatre’s 2018-19 season to begin!” Christopher Schario, artistic director of Lewiston/Auburn’s professional theater, said.

The theatre’s reputation for producing must-see professional theatre continues with a new season that includes a recent Broadway hit and several new plays performed by Broadway veterans.

For one weekend only, filmgoers in Lewiston, Mainewill unite with audiences in over 250 cities spanning six continents to view and judge the work of the next generation of filmmakers from around the world when the 20th Annual MANHATTAN SHORT Film Festival screens at The Public Theatre in Lewiston on Fri and Sat, September 29 and 30 at 7:30pm, and Sun, Oct 1 at 4pm.

The Public Theatre's Summer Professional Theatre Training Program performs July 28

The Public Theatre’s professional theatre training program for teens will perform How to Act like a Child: Lessons in NOT Being a Grown-up, a compilation of hip and entertaining stories inspired by children’s book author Shel Silverstein and others on Friday, July 28th at 6pm.  Also included will be several songs to show off the vocal skills the students are learning.
