All educators are invited to attend the Thursday Oct 18th 7pm preview performance of Almost, Maine for FREE! "It's our way of saying "THANKS", says Artistic Director Christopher Schario. "Teachers play a major role in helping us develop the theatergoers of tomorrow. Last season over 5,000 students attended a student matinee performance at The Public Theatre because teachers took an interest in our programming."
"Aside from the opportunity to see Almost, Maine for free, we see this night as a great opportunity for educators to mingle with their colleagues and meet our education committee. Teachers can enjoy light refreshments, while they gather information about the upcoming season at The Public Theatre." Educators are encouraged to spread the word about this "no teacher left behind" performance to their colleagues. Those interested in attending please RSVP your name and the number of people attending to 782-2211 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Public Theatre offers special student matinee performances for the affordable price of only $5.00 a ticket. This reduced ticket rate ticket is made possible by the generous support of local businesses and foundations. Quality Equity productions featuring professional actors from New York and New England, and post-show discussions featuring the actors and the director offer students an exceptional artistic experience as well as the unique experience of interacting with the people who created the performance. Free detailed Study Guides prepared by Professor Martin Andrucki of Bates College are available in advance of each production in addition to a Maine Learning Results Guide listing the educational objectives met with each production. For more information on student matinees, or study guides, please visit The Public Theatre's website at www.thepublictheatre.org. The theatre is located at the corner of Lisbon and Maple Street in downtown Lewiston.
