Play Write

Looking for a great group writing project?

This program introduces theatre as a collaborative art form, providing students the opportunity to expand their four C’s: Collaboration, Critical Thinking, Communication, and Creativity.

Inspired by a writing prompt connected to their curriculum, or an adaptation of an existing story in the public domain, our theatre professionals guide a group of students to complete a script that will be performed.

During COVID, a group of high school students wrote and performed, via Zoom, a modern adaptation of Hansel & Gretel under the guidance of our Education Director. The final product was an edited Zoom performance, and the video was distributed free-of-charge to our patrons, local libraries, and educators.

PLAY WRITE is now available as a live in-classroom outreach program, with the final product being performed live or virtually.

Upon completion you will be given a permanent link to the story to give to your students to include in their portfolios and share with their friends and families.

Play Write is best for grades 7-12.

If you are interested in learning more, EMAIL US or call us at 782-2211 and we’ll set up a time to chat and help you plan your project.
