Become a Sustainability Sponsor
Your Sustainability Sponsorship is an investment in the future of The Public Theatre.
Given the unprecedented situation we find ourselves in, we are creating Sustainability Sponsorships for the upcoming season. This means that your name will appear on everything we are able to produce on stage, off stage and virtually this season.
So far, we have used our “long intermission” to virtually expand our educational programming for children. We have partnered with our libraries to virtually perform stories that bring children’s literature to life. We’ve also taught several pay-what-you-can online theatre classes for children ages 9-17. As we expect the Arts in schools this year to suffer, we are currently exploring ways to partner with schools, teachers and parents to keep our children’s creativity alive. Studies show that theatre skills are valuable life skills and we are committed to improving the lives of our children during this difficult time.
The Public Theatre and other Arts institutions are vital to the economic and cultural well-being of Lewiston-Auburn. When this difficult moment in time has passed, it is the Arts that will help us to restore our much-needed sense of joy and community.
Indoor Performing Arts venues were the first to close and will be the last to return. With an understanding of the value that The Public Theatre contributes to our community we are asking you now to take a leap of faith with us and provide your support as we proceed forward with courage, grace and ingenuity.
Sustainability Sponsorship levels start at $250. For more information on becoming a sponsor, please call our business office at (207) 782-2211.
Founding Sponsor, Androscoggin Bank, is the first B Corp certified bank based in Maine.
Neil Kiely, CEO of Androscoggin Bank recently shared this news with us. As one of our founding sponsors, we wanted to spotlight what this means for our community.
This past year, as we celebrated our 150th Anniversary as a community bank, we reflected on our founding purpose of serving our clients and communities rather than serving the needs of external shareholders. We also reflected on our efforts over the past three years to reclaim our legacy as a mission-driven, values-based company who sees every client as a person first with values, dreams and ambitions and treats every employee as a stakeholder. Recently, we decided to raise the bar even higher on ourselves by seeking to join a small group of companies who are striving to combine purpose and performance at a whole new level. Our goal was to measure the impact of our Mission and our Values and to provide ourselves with new insight into ways we can contribute to the vibrancy of our communities.
That’s why we are honored to announce that we have earned the designation of a Certified B Corporation™, an accomplishment achieved by only nine other banks in the U.S.
B Corp™ certification is similar to LEED certification for green buildings, or Organic certification for food and equally rigorous. A key difference, however, is that rather than looking at just one aspect of a company like a building or product, B Corp certification evaluates an entire company from client service, to employee engagement, to community involvement, to environmental sustainability, to governance and finally, transparency. Other B Corp certified brands you may already know include Patagonia, Ben & Jerry’s, King Arthur Flour, Tom’s of Maine and Coffee By Design.
