With over 16,000 patrons yearly, The Public Theatre’s shows are a highlight of the social and cultural life of Central Maine. While productions regularly enjoy sold-out performances, ticket sales account for only a portion of the Theatre’s annual budget. As a non-profit organization, we rely on the support of businesses and individuals to help keep ticket prices affordable and conduct our Education and Outreach programs.

At The Public Theatre we believe live, top-rate professional theatre is for everyone. We all deserve to be entertained, challenged and inspired.
